Tammy Paulos came to The Barry A. Cohen Law Group in June 2010, having moved to Tampa from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she worked at the firm of famed plaintiff and criminal defense attorney Gerry Spence, as paralegal to partner Mel Orchard. Her legal experience began in 2002 with a position as a staff investigator at Bontecou Investigative Services, Inc., in Jackson, but Tammy truly learned the basics of the civil legal process from Spence's long-time partner, Bob Schuster, who had left Spence, Moriarity & Schuster to begin his own successful practice in 2002. When Ms. Paulos began working for Bob in the summer of 2003, he was in the middle of litigating a milestone carbon monoxide-related wrongful death case against Vail Resorts. The case went to trial in federal court for five weeks in late 2003 and subsequently won the largest verdict for personal injury damages in the history of Wyoming, $17.5 million. In late 2006, when Tammy came to Tampa for the first time, she worked at Bush Graziano & Rice as paralegal to partner Chip Rice, until she was offered a paralegal position at The Spence Law Firm in 2008. Tammy has ten years legal experience and twenty years professional experience before her legal career working at such positions as Executive Assistant to the president of Arlington, Virginia military defense consulting firm Cambridge International, Inc., Specwriter for Jackson Hole architectural firm Ellis Nunn & Associates, and Site Manager for Orlando CFC reclamation company RRCA, Inc. In 1992 she earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was born and raised. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, painting and playing guitar. |
