Many cases that our firm has handled have generated media attention as evidenced in part by our Newsroom. Our firm is particularly sensitive to our legal obligation to protect a person’s reputation in the court of public opinion. A person takes a lifetime to build a reputation of respect and integrity which can too easily be tarnished and trashed with a mere McCarthy-type investigation or indictment. Our firm sees our responsibility to protect that reputation in the court of public opinion, just as much as it is our responsibility to protect that client in the courts of justice. We are extremely sensitive of the importance of protecting one's reputation and seek to do everything to ensure that our clients' cases are not a matter of public interest and do not become a matter of public interest. The greatest majority of our cases are not matters that have drawn public attention and we do whatever is possible to perpetuate that anonymity. There are cases, however, both in the criminal and civil arena, where protecting our client in the court of public opinion is absolutely necessary and we are very skilled at doing that when necessary.
