Camille Godwin practices in the civil division of Cohen, Jayson & Foster on a wide range of cases that include personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, civil rights and complex commercial litigation. She excels in discovery and motion practice, settlement negotiations and pre-trial preparation. Camille also plays an essential part in the firm’s post-trial and appellate practice, researching and writing briefs and other court filings.
Prior to joining the firm, Camille spent more than ten years prosecuting multi-state personal injury, products liability, toxic torts, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases. Through these cases, Camille developed an understanding of the complicated financial arrangements and organizational agreements that typify much of the health care industry and other business sectors. At Cohen, Jayson & Foster, Camille has put this experience to use, analyzing multifaceted dealings involved in the contractual disputes and other litigation matters the firm handles for its' business clients.
Camille’s experience spans a wide range of legal subjects, from representing the Governor of Florida in a national right to die case, to successfully defending the free speech rights of a website entrepreneur, to handling a number of commercial and personal injury cases filed by farmers and nurserymen against a major chemical corporation for damages caused by a defective agricultural product. She also authored the briefs in a hotly contested case which resulted in an opinion by the Florida Supreme Court which help provide private persons a fair playing field when litigating discovery disputes with corporate entities.
