Located inside the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center in Downtown Tampa, Barry A. Cohen Hall Will Help Future Attorneys Develop Greater Advocacy Skills and Legal Acumen

Tampa, FL: Attorney Barry A. Cohen, the founding partner of influential Tampa Bay law firm Cohen, Jayson & Foster, P.A., has received numerous honors and accolades over his storied legal career, including being named one of the Best Lawyers in America and being selected as a Law and Politics “Florida Super Lawyer” for 2006 and 2007. But perhaps no honor or distinction meant more to him than the Hillsborough Bar Foundation’s Chester H. Ferguson Law Center naming its newly-built auditorium Barry A. Cohen Hall. The building was formally unveiled to the public on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, and included among the dignitaries in attendance was Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio.
“In our world which moves so quickly, our relationships are critical to our ability to practice within our profession,” said Mr. Cohen, reflecting on the potential impact of the hall bearing his name. “If we cease to maintain them, we lose a vital part of ourselves and our ability to serve our clients, improve our legal system, and preserve justice for every member of our society.” The mission of Barry A. Cohen Hall is to help future generations of lawyers and judges develop the advocacy skills necessary to advance the cause of liberty, and debate the critical legal issues that threaten to undermine our judicial system.
The Chester H. Ferguson Law Center sits adjacent to the Stetson College of Law Tampa campus and the Second District Court of Appeal. The building will serve as the permanent home of both the Hillsborough County Bar Association and Hillsborough County Bar Foundation.
